Entry 20: Graham and Kathy Ross
Kathy: "Hello. It's working, right honey?"
Graham: "I think so, the light it on at least."
Kathy: "Oh good! I'm Kathy Ross, and with me is my husband Graham. We're new to this whole recording our thoughts bit, aren't we dear."
Graham: "Yes."
Kathy: "Just a couple days ago we heard a big ruckus out on the street outside our cellar."
Graham: "Right, and not zombies this time."
Kathy: "Startled me wide awake and the baby too. Kicked real hard."
Graham: "Our good friend Ellis decided to risk a look and soon called us up as well."
Kathy: "A good thing too! Several other survivors were out and about, and after a very, very short talk we decided we'd be better off joining up with them."
Graham: "Yes, more to our benefit than theirs so far I'd say, since we were about to run out of food. But hopefully our experience will be of some use later. Ellis isn't speaking right now since he needs to concentrate on driving."
Kathy: "True enough. I'm not sure how much good I'll be, since I was a third-grade math teacher before, what are they calling it again?"
Graham: "Z-A Day."
Kathy: "Right, that was it. Before Z-A Day. Seems so simple a name, but far softer a blow than other things I guess. But I do at least have some experience being a Girl Scout Troop Leader as well."
Graham: "Mhm. And I don't know how telemarketing will help, but I'm sure I'll have something to offer... Just have to figure out what. I was taking some cooking classes, but, I guess that's less of a need than a comfort thing."
Kathy: "I'm going to give Ellis a rest, okay hon?"
Graham: "Alright dear. Guess we'll sign-off for now. Hm... Ah, there's the button-"
